Empowering Youths around the Slums of Kampala-Uganda
​Space Medium Youth Initiative started in May 2020 in the community of Banda Zone One, Acholi Quarter, with the vision to look at the different problems affecting the community and based on fact that it was during the time of lock down caused by the pandemic, the effect of the lock down was directly affecting the lives based on the different problems. Space medium youth Initiative chose to be a vehicle of change to bring different problems affecting people in the community under check and find different solutions to address those problems in the community.
Space Medium Youth Initiative has been at the forefront of making a difference in communities and young generation lives since 2020. Located at the intersection of community and life, we have been able to reachout ot over 2000 youth in the community of acholi quarters, we have implemented over 20 different community interventions that focuses on Gender and Equality dialoguing, waste management, Art and Creatice and we have been supported in our cause by various institution like the Refugee Law Prject, Actogther, Plan International Uganda, International Women Peace Center and many others in providing young people with the values and skills they need to become exceptional community leaders but mostly combating social challenges like Gender Based Violence, Climatic Changes, Youth Unemployment, Teenage Pregnacies, community health and sanitation, leadership and capacity building, we are here to inspire young people through exploring their their skills and potentials in the various aspects of life like music, sports, art and craft so many more.
