ART AS A TOOL FOR AMPLIFYING THE VOICES AND ACTIONS TOWARD PEACE

Looking at a wider boundary, breaking wrong narrative and sending the positive narratives across the region, what are the tools that can contribute to sustainability and impact on actions for peace, how can we amplify the voices and let it reign beyong our boundaries, a community activist, Young innovator with Inter Peace and Pole Institute of Goma, DR. Congo Christophe Hamisi shares his thoughts on arts as a vital tool.

"In a system which muuzles the press and opponents, which stifles the diversity of opinions in favor of single thought. Art becomes the rare credible media.

Art is a weapon of massive transformation that has proven itself through out history, whether it was the French revolution or the explosion of Fascism in Italy, art played a leading role

This is why, aware of this responsibilty, artist must stop lagging behind the powerful, serving as sounding board for extremist causes, in exchange for meager pay. They must play a leading role in the fight for justice, peace and development, given the heaviness of their artillery called ART!

The current generation of artists must be inspired to by the courage and commitment of Kizito Mihigo, a Rwanda singer and composer commited to Peace and tolerance after the Rwanda Genocide tragedy

An Artist who does not defend a cause disharms it.

Dear artist, remember that in your hands, you hold the same weapon, with which others have propelled revolutions, generated mass movements, created popular uprisings, driven radical and definitive change in their community. The Good question is what do you do with it!

We must form a regional artists capable of countering hate speech on social media through artistic content that preaches peace"

Peace Begins with you but its your duty to spread it beyond your boundaries.
